Since we know that thinking and behaviour are predominantely driven by intuitve processes it is absolutely necessary to work with psychological profiles for politicians and for complete campaign strategies. Liberals and conservaties exhibit different cognitive styles and differ in their political attitudes and beliefs. Colleagues in the USA also took brain activity measurements of conservatives and progressives (see picture below). The results suggest that liberals and conservatives engage different cognitive processes when they think about risk, and that conservatives show greater sensitivity to threatening stimuli.
